Your online privacy and security is very important to us.

Personal data collection

When you are on or other FAS pages and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with the Frethinkers Association of Switzerland alone, unless stated otherwise.

We may collect the following data from visitors

  • Browser type, referrer URL
  • IP addresses for analytics purposes (we do not store these with your profile or membership record)
  • Any information volunteered by the visitor, such as names, address, email address.

We use visitor data to learn how our site is used and provide the public with adequate communications.

Sharing information

The Freethinkers Association of Switzerland will not disclose any identification data, except when we have your permission to do so, or under special circumstances. We will only act in good faith. This may occur when we have well-founded reasons to believe that the law requires it.  The FAS may also use such data to contact people for marketing or administrative purposes.

What does FAS do with the personal data you provide?

If you provide us with personal data (for example, when subscribing to or taking part in a campaign) your details are stored securely and used only for the purpose for which you have signed up. We do not pass your data to other organisations without your express consent.
The information you give us will be stored in a database and may be used by us where appropriate.  These data show what campaigns and appeals are working well and informs future activity across the organisation, helping us to be more effective and focused. They are also used for routine administration such as distribution of the members’ newsletter, membership renewals and regular donations.

Information security

When we receive your personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely on our systems. Unfortunately, it is not possible to guarantee the total safety of any data transmitted over the Internet.
